On behalf of the Chambersburg Noontime & Evening Lions Club we would like to sincerely thank all of you who came out and fished in our derby. We are constantly trying to improve year after year, we value your feedback and will do what we can to implement changes to make the derby better.

The good that comes out of this derby has a large impact on countless individuals in our local community. Below are just a few of the organizations and projects we fund with the proceeds from this Trout derby.

American Cancer Society (local Relay for Life Team), Franklin County United Way, Meals on Wheels, Network Ministries, Community Health & Cancer Support Programs, Chamber Education Foundation, Veteran’s organizations, eye glasses & exams, diabetes research and many, many more.

Below are some stats from the derby in regards to payouts and participation.

805 registered fishermen/women

625 Tagged Trout with a total value of $35,000 were stocked

Chambersburg Noontime Lions sponsored 77 Trout with a total value of $14,125

Includes 25 Trout with a total value of $10,000 that were added in 2023 to compensate for the poor weather in 2022

402 of the 625 tagged trout (64%) were turned in at the check station

Total value of Prizes paid for the 402 trout = $22,300

How Are the Funds Used?

Vision Exams and Eyeglasses to Chambersburg residents who require financial support for these services.

Lions Club International, State, & Local Projects:

  • Beacon Lodge, Leader Dog Foundation, Research (Vision, Hearing, Diabetes), Disaster Relief
  • CASHS Graduating Senior College Scholarships
  • CASHS Boys Basketball Banquet
