A 50/50 contest will be held for the three people that catch the largest TAGGED trout. Payouts will be 60% to the largest trout, 30% to the next largest and 10% to the third largest trout.
There is an additional $5.00 entry fee per person for the big trout contest.
The three biggest tagged trout will be determined by total length and girth. In the event of a tie the tiebreaker will be the weight of the fish.
Half of the total big trout contest entry fees will be paid to the winner. The 2011 payout was nearly $2,000.
Please note that the committee reserves the right to accept or reject any tagged trout presented for payment. Any evidence of tampering will be grounds for disqualification.

I HAVE HEARD A LOT ABOUT YOUR CONTEST AND THE SIZE OF THE TROUT THIS WILL BE MY 1ST TIME AT YOUR CONTEST AND LOOKING FOWARD TO IT. I LIVE IN COATESVILLE PENNA. ABOUT 3 MILE NORTH OF THE CITY .
the average size fish is anywhere between 8” and 14” at best
8-14 at best, I dont believe 8 maybe 11-14 is average which is good then with 20-25 stocked fish hitting that 20 inch mark
i sure wasnt satisfied with contest at 10:30 they stocked scotland pond with 2 buckets of trout and i heard someone say 2 trout with tags not much for the no of people that were to fish there seems to me most ofthe tagged fish went from silom and wilson college i know one section across from ice and cold storage could have been stocked if asked but wasnt and it was a nice section of land. also too many people fishing without derby tags and then if getting a tagged fish giving it to there buddy who has a derby tag and splitting the money lions club should get permission from state to close that section for 2 days for derby entrees only and that setting up there chairs and rods and then leaving to. save a spot should be banned i heard a lot of people say they wouldnt do the derby anymore be cause of these things and i know im one of them.
Sorry to hear of your experience. We do understand that there are some unethical people and it is indeed unfortunate. We’ve tried to do everything within out power to make the derby fair for everyone involved.
It is a shame that some people choose to be dishonest.
Any chance you could start posting results? Other derbies list the % of tags caught per day, how many of the big $$ fish are caught, maybe even names/pics of the big fish contest winners? see here – http://www.kishcreektrouttournament.com/kishresults.htm
